I wasted my money on this book. At the time of purchase, I thought, wow, what a great idea!!! But, you see, this book presents absolutely no new ideas. Just common sense portion control diet. Eat less and you will lose weight!!!
of course, if you eat less, you will lose weight... Watch how your stomach fills up and stop eating when full... that's the entire book.
But, anyone who did any diet knows, it's not that easy to cut down on your eating. The problem lies not just on the mental conditions. The selection of foods that people eat will make people fat! Paul ignores it completely.
According to Paul, it's ok to eat anything in moderation. I agree with it but only about 50%. Say, when people start eating potato chips, most people won't be able to stop eating at the right amount, and people will feel hungry again very soon. That's where Paul's diet fails; he says you can eat all kinds of junk foods, and still lose weight!!!... sounds only good in theory, and works only on paper!!!
Don't waste your money. Just go to gym, stop eating out (I did stop), stop eating snacks and junk foods, cook your own meal, eat sensibly, cut down on seasoning (hot peppers are ok though), and you will lose weight. I've lost 7 pounds so far after I did those, and I keep on losing weight. Paul's diet is another failed diet in my diet history. |

| I Can Make You Thin has a lot of tried and true information for improving eating habits. I am glad there is a cd for actual practice of self hypnosis but I have not actually used it yet. This is no fault of the book how ever. The little check list of good habits provided later in the book are also very helpful for changing behavior. If I was ready to jump in and use this information I think it would probably work but I got more than half way through and just felt like there were so many changes it was overwhelming and I haven`t read it since. |

If you are reading this review right now, then you are like I was about 2 months ago, very skeptical. When I first heard about this book, I did some research about it and was stunned by the results people seemed to be getting from it. It seemed so easy, almost TOO easy. I also thought "no way will this work for me, these kinds of things never do." I decided to just think about getting it. A few days later, I decided, "what have I got to lose? It could be a waste of money, or it could open the door to finally losing some weight." Purchasing this book was the best thing I have done in a long time because it has done wonders for me! It has helped me lose weight and just made me feel better about myself all around. So far I have been following this system for just over a month, and I have already lost a little more then 25 pounds!
How simple is this system? When you're hungry, EAT! When you're full, STOP! Now I know that might sound a little stupid, but it's not really something I ever did. I would usually eat on a schedule, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a snack every now and then. Now when I want to eat something, I just ask myself "am I hungry?" If i can answer yes, then I'll eat it, if I answer no, then I don't eat it. It's that simple! I was amazed at what little amount of food it took to fill me up when I actually started paying attention! At some times I was eating nearly 1/4 of what I usually would eat.
Another thing that makes this system so great is that since you are changing the way you eat and look at food, it's a change that will last! Since its not a "diet" you won't put the weight back on when you stop because its a lifestyle change that you just have to continue on with after you lose the weight.
If you are overweight, or just looking to shed a few pounds or just want to get a little healthier, get this book now, it will change your life and you and your body will thank you for it! |

I have been using this product for about 3 weeks. I don't feel like I am on a diet and have to avoid certain foods. I LOVE it! I have lost weight, enjoy what I eat and do not feel deprived. I do have a different relationship with eating/food.
I uploaded the CD to my MP3 player and use it when I go to bed at night. I am shocked at how well it has worked for me. I am thrilled that I am losing weight and feel confident with the success I am having. I always thought I had no willpower and have found that this hypnosis has been just what I needed. I can see why it is successful. I'm optimistic that it will continue. Thanks Paul! |

| The system seemed like a great idea therefore I did purchase the book. This is the first time I purchased from this seller and the item was presented as "NEW". The book binding was broken, the pages where bent, and the CD did not work. I contacted the seller and was told to send it back and the shipping would be partially paid. I chose to buy online to save time and money. This is the second time I purchased an item on Amazon that was advertised as "new" and received very damaged merchandise. My time is money but I would rather see what I am buying and not be taken advantage of. I believe the seller should check the quality of the item before advertising it as "new" and not cause the consumer aggravation! I wonder how many other buyers would rather keep the damaged merchadise than go through the trouble of returns. Therefore this is becoming a place to make money for junk...so I have written this off as a lesson well learned and will not purchase items from Amazon again. |

| Paul McKenna has some great ideas - yet they are all common sense. The hypnosis drives the point home, though, so you have to stay consistent with that. I've lost 5 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I'm happy! |

| I originally got this book from the library. A month after reading it and implementing the suggestions in the book I have lost 12 pounds, with little to no effort. The key for me was with diet programs I obessed with what, when and how I could eat all the time. There were 9 million rules. Now I eat what I want when I want, but I am not overeating. I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. I think the key to his program is the relaxation-trance meditation cd. I think the diet idea of restriction all the time leads to cravings that are never satisfied by either not eating what you crave or eating a sugar-free, fat-free item that does not taste like the real thing. My husband is constantly " aren't you going to finish that?" now my answer is no, I am not still hungry so why eat it. Mckenna wants everyone to quit the "empty plate club" we have all had drilled into us since we were 6 and our parents convinced us that us not finishing our supper was contributing to the starving kids somewhere. I went to a birthday dinner recently and normally would pick at food that I "should not be eating" and skip the cake on the initial offering only to cave later and eat cake and then feel guilty the rest of the party for eating the cake. Now I went to the party, picked out the things I wanted to eat and ate a small piece of cake, and actually enjoyed myself and did not think of what I was "suppose to do" you know the have a plan before going, eat an apple before you go, drink water before you get to the party. Mckenna's plan does not tell you any of this. Ia amazed at how food has become a nonissue for me and I am just losing weight at a slow steady rate. And yes if you went out to dinner every day and lived on junk food you will not lose weight, but I seem not to have those cravings as much. I am not saying I still don't think "God I want chocolate" but I actually have had a bowl of chocolates on my diningroom table all month and I have eaten some ocassionally, but they don't seem to call to me like they did before. I really can not wait till his quit smoking book is out. I am soooo giving to my husband. |

| After Atkins and all the other diet books out there, finally one that makes sense. I am very glad that I read about this book and then bought it. I am making more progress now than I ever have in the past. |

| A little early to tell, but listening to daily CD reinforcement of the goal (thinner) seems to be somewhat effective. At the very least, I get a half-hour rest period. |

| I stumbled across this article about this lady that was always struggling with her weight. Until she got this little book and cd," I can make you thin. " She said it was effortless. So I decided to give this a try. I have also bought numerous video's, books etc. I have to say, this is the best program ever. There are only a few rules...Eat when you are hungry, Eat what you really want, Stop when you are satisfied, and Move a little every day. The cd and book are perfect companions to help re-program your mind to effortless weightloss. I really love this program, so glad I found this ladies article! I HAVE NOW BOUGHT 3 OF HIS BOOKS, ONE EACH FOR 2 FRIENDS AND MYSELF. SO FAR SO GOOD. IT DOES CHANGE YOUR WAY OF THINKING OF FOOD AND EATING. I AM LOSING A LITTLE WEIGHT AND HOPE TO CONTINUE WITH NEW EATING HABITS. THIS NOT BEING A DIET REALLY HELPS, IT'S JUST WHAT IT IS, CHANGING OUR THINKING AND THE CD IS VERY GOOD IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. IT IS RELAXING TO TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO IT AND I FEEL HELPS WITH THE STRESS OF A BUSY LIFE AS WELL.
WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN BE OPEN MINDED ABOUT A NEW IDEA CONCERNING HOW YOU EAT. |

This is an amazing book.
I am sorry it is not accompanied by a video. It only has an audiotape.
It actually works! I am really glad I made this purchase and recommend it to any one
who has been struggling with his or her weight for years.
My only regret is that I did not find it years ago!
