This diet works for me. In any successful weight loss program you must be able to incorporate it into your life style and enjoy the foods that are recommended. Changing habits and adjusting your life style is not easy and requires a commitment to a program you can adhere to. The four small meals and whole grains, nuts and seeds seem to be the best diet for my tastes. I also love avocado and dark chocolate.
I am 57 years old and as many others my age can attest to, I have had the pounds creep on year after year. I have tried Weight Watchers, South Beach and many others and had some success but always ultimately quit.
Constant hunger was my struggle while on Weight Watchers and when I fell off that wagon I would hit the ground hard with more cravings than ever. South Beach is healthy, but as soon as I added even a few extra carbs I would quit loosing and seemed to have a lot of nagging headaches.
I almost didn't buy the Flat Belly Diet book thinking it would be one more diet book on my shelf, but I am glad I did buy it!
I was a little hungry and bored the first two days! Now I am never hungry if I stay with the program. I travel and the suggestions on little snack packs are great! Little things that I can carry in my purse really help. (The whole wheat english muffin and peanut butter is my favorite!) I love the abundance of whole grain foods. They really fill me up and keep me from getting hungry. As the weight slowly comes off, I am exercising more and enjoying it.
At first it didn't seem like I was loosing much weight nor did the tape measure prove that I was loosing many inches, but my family and friends kept commenting on my weight loss and actually thought that I had lost more weight than I actually had! Maybe it is because it does seem to be coming off my mid-section. (Could be the middle age thing for me.)
I would suggest joining the on-line Flat Belly Prevention site if you plan to stay with it. The site helps me to log my meals, makes suggestions for menus and you can create shopping lists.
I too am frustrated with those who shoot this diet down and have not tried it. I am glad that their diet and life style works for them, but this one works for me. Good luck to anyone struggling to control their weight, I feel your pain!

5.5 lbs in 4 days of the jump start...and another 1.5 lbs by day 6 for a total of 7 lbs in six days!!! Everything is as promised: I lost bloat and weight immediately, and my clothes are now almost a size too big. The program is easy to follow & I've never felt hungry! This even though I was prepared to feel deprived during the jump start. I didn't! My energy level is great, the water is something I now have to have daily, and the recipes are really good. It is an absolute pleasure to plan my day's eating...rather than dreading it. All of the things so limited on "diets"---chocolate, nuts, avacados, etc., are not just OK, they are a must. Most significantly, this immediately struck me not as a "diet", but as a way of life going forward. Thanks, Prevention!

If you are totally serious about getting that flat belly and want to expend the effort, this book will work wonders on that problem area. It is filled with good, useful tips that I've overlooked in the past. I know that this area is a problem for most of us, that's why I decided to get this book and just see if I could do it--with not so many sit-ups or crunches! A must read if you want to rid yourself of that belly fat. I also liked and would suggest Goodbye, Fatty! Hello, Skinny! How I Lost Weight And Still Ate The Foods I Loved-Without Dieting as it helped me to get inspired to start the weight loss.

As a veteran dieter, I found this plan exceptionally easy to follow. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the healthy eating plan for you! Chocolate and peanut butter are encouraged as sources of belly-busting MUFAS. But what I really like about this plan is the variety of options that customize it to the user's lifestyle. I love this diet, I've been doing it for about 1 1/2 months and so far have lost 11 lbs, that may not sound like much, but the greatest thing about this diet is I don't feel tired anymore and I'm never hungry. This is actually the second book I bought, I bought this one for a friend and I'm buying another one for my mother-in-law.

This diet works if you read the book and stay with the program. My husband lost over 15 pounds in six weeks, and I lost 12 pounds. This is the easiest diet in the world to stay on. The recipes are easy and satisfying. We are NEVER hungry. I love this diet. In fact, the program has become a way of life for us, and I cannot imagine ever going back. I now weigh 124 lbs. The weight literally melts away. It's brilliant.
I am not hungry and I can stick with it.

After 4 days on the anti-bloat diet that kickstarts this whole plan - I lost 7 lbs. That is not bad for someone who only had about 10 to 15 to lose. I was NEVER hungry the entire 4 days - in fact sometimes I was a little too full. Those four days are a little bland and can be a bit boring - I suggest grabbing a few salt free spice mixtures to liven up the dinners.

Its the MUFAs!!! They make you full and satisfied. On my first day with the regular plan. Just adding that simple MUFA has made all the difference. I have learned to make breakfast count - one little muffin is not enough. Also have one substantial snack instead of 5 or 6 small ones.

I am actually online today to order a copy for my mom!

To all the skeptics who put this down without even trying it, shame on you. I am currently on this diet and don't even look at it as a diet anymore. It's helped me to change my lifestyle to a healthier one, and I've seen amazing results from it. Yes, we all know that eating less and healthier foods will help, but this book outlines step by step with hundreds of recipes and the right natural ingredients to use. I am not a large person. I am 29 years old and I simply wanted to lose about 10-15 lbs to be where I was at 21 - which everyone says is crazy and it's just age - let it take it's course. NO! I am now under my weight when I got married and not only that but FEEL great - I no longer crave unhealthy foods. As I said, it's a lifestyle change and is the only thing that has actually worked for me in years. THANK YOU FLAT BELLY DIET!!!

My husband and I did this together and we've learned how to subsitute local items for the name brand hard to find items. We just compare food labels and get something close. My husband lost 38 pound from Sept through December. I'm only 5'2" and didn't have much too loose so I've always had trouble with that last 5 pounds. I found I lost 14 pounds and I'm VERY pleased. I didn't realize that in my late 30's my body had shifted and weight was starting to accumulate around my waist. My husband was sporting a spare set of, as he calls them, tires and now looks and feels amazing. The doctor has said we can continue on the diet and my husband will just up his calories to the doctor recommended amount. With my activity level,limited, and size the doctor was fine with me remaining at 1600. I highly reccommend this book. It will take some effort, planning and does cost a bit more in food. Once you're on it for a while you figure out how to manage the costs and the menu to create something that is easy to have as a daily lifestyle. This also allows for the occasional treat without feeling guilty and gaining weight. I am very thankful we found this book as we are much more healthy.

I really like this plan because it promotes healthy food choices instead of crazy combinations or "going without." I have tried every fad diet on the market. So far this one really works. I have lost 6 pounds in two weeks and have eaten like a queen. Any diet that lets me eat chocolate is a great diet! For people that say ingredients are hard to find, you can always substitute if you read the labels. I have also learned how to create my own 400 calorie menus using foods I can easily find, as long as I add a mufa! My favorite snack, whole wheat muffin, Nutella, and a muffin. It is definately a diet for a lifetime change in unhealthy eating habits.

It works for me! I find the meals filling and delicious. There is a lot of variety and good suggestions for costumizing the diet to your own needs. I found it hard at first to find some of the foods mentioned, and I use my own favorite brand many times instead of the suggested brand. But by keeping the calories the same, I maintain the integrity of the diet. I feel so much better, not bloated all the time. This is great if you a tired of that too full feeling around your midsection. I just finished my first 28 days (32 with the quick start) and lost 11 pounds. My husband lost 12. Highly recommend this book.

This diet book is easy to use to make a change in how you eat. It is full of good information and the diet is easy and you are not hungry, grouchy,or tired if you follow it. Who wouldn't love to be on a diet that includes semi sweet chocolate chips? The book also includes a free 30 day trial for the online companion. The book includes recipes for those that love to cook along with fastfood choices and a list of frozen food choices and meal replacement bars for those who do not like or have time to cook. It includes a variety of food choices so you don't get tired of eating the same thing all of the time. The book is great! I have lost 5 pounds so far.
